Kitty Moore

At Guilford Press, I have dedicated my career to advancing the field of psychology through impactful publishing. My role has involved collaborating with industry leaders and developing innovative resources, including a clinician app for Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which has significantly enhanced therapeutic practices.

In addition, I am responsible for Guilford’s trade division, spearheading publications that have sold hundreds of thousands of copies, including Mind Over Mood, The Survival Guide to Bipolar Disorder, The AARP Caregiving Answer Book, and The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook. I had the profound pleasure of working closely with Marsha Linehan in developing her manual and have acquired many other titles in DBT to help further our understanding of this critically important therapeutic intervention.

With over 25 years of experience in suicide prevention, DBT, and youth mental health, I bring both academic and clinical expertise to my work. A former Associate Professor at Seattle Central College, I taught courses in suicide prevention, intervention, and treatment, and continue to train professionals in CBT and DBT. Mentored by Dr. Marsha Linehan, I have extensive experience counseling justice-involved youth and supporting at-risk adolescents through evidence-based interventions.

My career includes 11 years with Washington State’s Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration, where I implemented DBT statewide and developed the state’s suicide prevention curriculum. I am committed to advancing healing, prevention, and positive outcomes for vulnerable youth and those who serve them.
