Linehan-DBT Research Inc
In 2014, she ended her ownership affiliation with Behavioral Tech, having transferred it to the stewardship of a nonprofit organization. In early 2020, she rebranded Behavioral Tech Research as Linehan-DBT Research Inc. to continue researching and developing innovative tools to disseminate DBT globally.
International Society for the Improvement and Teaching of DBT
Dr. Linehan also founded the International Society for the Improvement and Teaching of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, a nonprofit that organizes an annual conference to bring together DBT clinicians from across the U.S. and around the world.
DBT-Linehan Board of Certification
Her problem-solving vision also led to the creation of the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, which serves the public by identifying providers and programs that deliver DBT with fidelity to the evidence-based model she and her colleagues established.
World DBT Association
Most recently, together with DBT colleagues and her daughter Geraldine, she co-founded the World DBT Association. She is Professor Emeritus at the University of Washington’s Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics (BRTC). She is the founder of the Linehan Institute.
